A minimal intervention combines contemporary architecture with the authenticity of an industrial loft.
The new plan prioritizes the structural bays, open space, and light.
A signifying entry offers welcome and function.
The new kitchen is state-of-art technology.
It serves as the centerpiece of the home.
The space is organized around the columns. Only the minimal amount of walls necessary were added.
Exposed piping was embraced as a decorative element in order to better preserve the historic concrete and plaster work.
Even the old, solid wood maple floors were deemed to have value. All windows were replaced instead.
The half-height walls are evident of the openness concept. Even the walk-in closet receives natural light.
